Our Story,
Henry's Legacy

Our Parent's Dream, Your Favorite Sports Lounge
Henry’s Lounge is more than a place to catch the game — it’s a living tribute to our parents, Ronald and Irene Henry.
What started as Ronald and Irene's dream has become Sacramento's go-to hangout sports bar, where good food, great company, and game-day energy all come together. Our sports lounge is rooted in our family history and we are proud to share it with you.
It All Started in 1976
In 1976, Ronald and Irene Henry purchased their first commercial property and opened The Royal Pub, a neighborhood bar that quickly became a favorite hangout spot in Sacramento.
A decade later, they opened Henry’s Lounge at 9th & L Streets in Downtown Sacramento, which became a community staple until our father, Ron passed in 2014.
The property was sold in 2019, however, Irene wasn’t ready to let her husband's dream end.

A Legacy That Lives On
In 2021, Irene re-opened Henry’s Lounge at a new home on O Street, beginning a new chapter that honored her husband’s legacy and his love for bringing people and fans together, to watch every televised sport, especially Ron’s favorite- boxing.
Just eight months after opening, Irene passed away, leaving her love and spirit in every corner of Henry’s Lounge. Every game, every toast, every shared moment helps us continue this love letter to our parents.
We are honored to have you as a part of our story.
