Ronald Henry Sr. and Irene Henry purchased their first commercial property in June 1976 and with absolutely no experience operating a bar, Ron was very determined to succeed. He opened a bar and named it "The Royal Pub". This bar was very successful until its closing in 1985.

 

In 1986, Ron & Irene purchased a new property with the intention to reopen “The Royal Pub” under a new name, “Henry’s”. Henry's was located at 9th & L. Streets in downtown Sacramento.  Henry's was a popular spot for a long time. Ron passed away in 2014, and the building was sold in 2019.

 

Irene purchased a new property with the goal to open a sports bar & arcade in Sacramento. A couple of years into the pandemic, Irene’s dream became a reality. In September of 2021, we opened the doors to Henry’s Lounge, located at 21st & O. Streets in midtown Sacramento.

 It was Irene’s dream to create a place where people can watch all sports,

but especially Ron’s favorite, boxing. After 8 months of Henry’s Lounge being in business, Irene sadly passed away. 

 

Ron and Irene were special to a lot of people.  

Henry’s Lounge will always strive to keep their legacy alive.
